Trinamool Congress’ Martyrs’ Day programme today, on July 21, has drawn huge crowd from across West Bengal. Thousands of people reached for Kolkata for the past few days and have been camped in the city.
Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee is the main speaker. Top leaders of the party – from party’s national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee to Subrata Bakshi, Sougata Roy, Sudip Bandopadhyay, Partha Chatterjee, along with several other leaders arrived at the Esplanade venue and are some of the speakers before Mamata Banerjee.
July 21 is marked by Trinamool Congress as its Martyrs’ Day to commemorate the 1993 firing incident in Kolkata when 13 people died in police firing during a rally of the West Bengal Youth Congress under Mamata Banerjee.
