Two people were injured in a shootout in Kolkata’s Bansdroni area on Tuesday morning. The injured are currently admitted in two different hospitals of Kolkata, and their conditions were said to be critical.
The incident took place in Bansdroni’s Brahmapur area, at around 10.40 am on Tuesday. According to local people, both men – dealers in raw materials for building construction – fought over their business dealings when both allegedly shot at each other during a heated argument.
The injured – Moloy Dutta and Biswanath Singh – have been admitted in a private hospital along the EM Bypass and a state-run hospital in south Kolkata. Local people said that it is a peaceful area but in recent times, conflicts over construction of building apartments have become common. Senior police officers reached the spot. Investigation is on.
