Meanwhile, Forward Block leader from Chakulia, Ali Imran Ramz has complained to the ECI on the use of the image of chief minister Mamata Banerjee in the chapter on Singur in Class Eight textbooks and in other form of stationeries like diaries and books. Distribution of such materials once the MCC comes into effect should be deemed as a violation of it, noted the Forward Block lawmaker.

A huge number of complaints have been pouring in before the Election Commission since the Model Code of Conduct came into effect.
