Musician and political activist Kabir Suman was admitted to SSKM Hospital in Kolkata on June 27. The former MP of Trinamool Congress was admitted to the Woodburn ward of the state-run hospital. He is reported to be suffering from breathing distress along with fever.
COVID-19 report for Kabir Suman is yet to come. However, his treatment is on along with oxygen support and medicines. Other tests are also being conducted.
The 72-year-old had contested for Trinamool Congress from the Jadavpur constituency. Suman became distanced from the party at some point, though recently the issues had been apparently resolved. However, he didn’t contest elections again. Kabir Suman has praised chief minister Mamata Banerjee at a public programme not so long ago, and had raised his voice against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). He has been suffering from various ailments recently.
