Arvind Kejriwal calls BJP “serial killer of governments”
Alleges that 227 MLAs have been "bought" by the BJP in recent years with Rs 5,500 crore.
Arvind Kejriwal on Friday called the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) a “serial killer of governments” and said he wanted to face a trust vote to prove that the party could not lure any Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA. “I want to bring a confidence motion to show that the BJP has not been able to break away a single MLA,” Kejriwal said during a special session of the Delhi Assembly.
AAP alleges that the BJP is conducting “Operation Lotus” in Delhi to topple the Arvind Kejriwal government. The party alleges that probes targeting leaders like deputy CM Manish Sisodia was also part of it, and a session was called to discuss the matter. They also alleged that a BJP offer was made to him to cross over and cases against him would be dropped.
“The CBI tried everything but not even 25 paise was found at his home. The next day a BJP leader approached Manish and said that we’ll make you the chief minister and give you 20 crore each to break away from AAP. Manish rejected it and BJP tried to reach out to other MLAs. Each of my MLAs is a diamond – they can’t be bought,” Kejriwal said. AAP alleges that each MLA is being offered Rs 20 crore to break away.
“The BJP has dismantled several governments and now they have turned towards Delhi. There is a serial killer of governments in our country. The pattern is the same,” Kejriwal said. He alleged that 227 MLAs have been bought by the BJP in recent years, and Rs 5,500 crore has been spent in this, with Rs 800 crore kept for Delhi.
