The Bengal Story Bureau: Bengaluru-based electric vehicle maker Ather Energy has introduced the 450X Overtones Series in India. The updated electric scooter features three new colour schemes and a powerful 900W fast charger. The model also receives the latest AtherStack 7 software update, bringing enhanced connectivity and safety features to the popular lineup.
Faster Charging and New Colours
The Overtones Series introduces a new tone-on-tone aesthetic in three shades: Space Grey, Lunar Grey, and Still White. Buyers opting for these new colour schemes will pay an additional premium of Rs 1,000 over the standard single-tone models. The starting price for the 450X range currently sits at Rs 1.52 lakh (ex-showroom).
Alongside the cosmetic upgrades, Ather has replaced the older 700W charger with a more capable 900W unit. The company claims the upgraded charger reduces the overall charging time by nearly 30 per cent, significantly improving daily convenience for city commuters.

Software Upgrades and Battery Range
Mechanically, the scooter remains unchanged. It continues to draw power from a 6.4kW motor, offering a top speed of 90 kmph. Buyers can choose between a 2.9 kWh battery pack that delivers a claimed range of 126 km and a larger 3.5 kWh battery pack that offers a 161 km range.
The integration of the AtherStack 7 software platform adds multiple smart features to the dashboard. The update includes “Voice on Ather” for hands-free navigation and media controls. The software also brings advanced safety measures such as CrashAlert, ParkSafe and LockSafe, which allow owners to remotely disable the motor in case of theft.
The Ather 450X Overtones Series is available across dealerships nationwide. With the new software and faster charging capabilities, the manufacturer aims to solidify its position in the premium electric two-wheeler segment.
