Real Madrid on Wednesday drew the match 2-2 against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League semi-final, but entered the finals — the third consecutive time — winning an epic match 4-3 on aggregate. In the first leg in Munich, Real Madrid had beaten Bayern 2-1.
In today’s match Bayern’s Joshua Kimmich scored a goal two minutes into the game. Real’s Karim Benzema didn’t take too long – scoring an equalizer within eight minutes of the first goal. Just after the half-time break, goalkeeper Sven Ulreich’s howler paved the way for Benzema’s second goal of the night. Former Madrid player, James Rodriguez’s impeccable finish in the 63th minute meant Bayern needed one more goal to go through. But at the final whistle, the Real Madrid players were the ones celebrating, as they had won 4-3 on aggregate.
Real Madrid will now face the winner of tonight’s second semi-final between Liverpool and Roma in the UCL Final at Kiev on May 27.
