India eases visa norms for Bangladesh freedom fighters

India relaxed the age limit for visas of Muktijoddhas – freedom fighters of the 1971 Liberation War – by six years. The freedom fighters who were aged between 13 and 19 years during the war will be allocated five-year multiple tourist visas. Earlier, this facility could only be used by the freedom fighters who were aged 19 during the war.

Also, freedom fighters above 65 will continue to avail visa benefits agreed between India and Bangladesh.

The new norms came after Bangladesh relaxed the age limit for the freedom fighters of Bangladesh-India allied forces during the Liberation war.
