Addressing a rally at Churu in Rajasthan just hours after an airstrike against across the Line of Control, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the country is in ‘safe hands’.
The Jaish-e-Mohammed had claimed responsibility for the Pulwama terror strike which took the lives of more than 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on February 14. Meant to target terrorist bases and avoid civilian casualties, the air strikes carried out by the Indian Air Force early Tuesday have been described to be ‘non-military and pre-emptive’ by the government as there was ‘credible intelligence’ that the Jaish-e-Mohammed was planning to deploy more suicide bombers to carry out more terror attacks in India.
Under this backdrop, speaking to the gathering today which included several ex-servicemen, the Prime Minister stated that he sensed a ‘fervour’ in the crowd. Describing himself to be the ‘pradhan sevak’ of the people, Modi added that he would not allow the nation to ‘stoop’ or ‘bend’ or ‘bow’ its head. People in the gathering cheered as the Prime Minister spoke about the country and its people and their pride.

Saluting ‘fellow Indians’ and the ‘armed forces’, the Prime Minister pledged on the ‘soil’ that he would not let the country perish nor let the country bow down before others. PM Modi thanked the people saying he enjoyed their ‘support’ and ‘trust’.
Urging the people to repeat ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ after him, the Prime Minister stated that the ‘nation is bigger’ than anything else — any individual or group.
