High-altitude may cause more heart problems, study finds

People are exposed to more heart-related problems in high altitudes as the volume blood circulation dips significantly and blood pressure in the lungs increases, a recent study has found.

The research, conducted for two weeks in California, found the amount of oxygen drops significantly over 3000 metre. Lack of oxygen lowers the blood circulation in the body and increases blood pressures in the lungs reducing the amount of blood pumped into the heart.

The research also showed how the heart and pulmonary vessels cope up with less oxygen and how it affects exercise, physical work in the high altitude areas.
