He said the Prime Minister must apologise for belittling the Army whose action he flaunts in a bid to criticise the Congress-led former government. The Congress president was reacting to the “video game” taunt of the Prime Minister at the surgical strike executed during the Congress regime.

Rahul Gandhi, at a press conference this morning, said that Congress never politicised the armed forces. He said that the main issue in this election was not security of the nation but the high unemployment rate prevailing in the country. He accused PM Modi of keeping mum on important issues such as unemployment and farmers’ problems and concluded that he was doing so as “he has nothing to say”.

He said the BJP had gone into a panic mode and the PM was taking refuge behind the Army, as it was clear to them that they would lose the elections.
Rahul Gandhi said that he had apologised to the Supreme Court for saying that the apex court had backed his chowkidar chor hai comment. However, he added that he still stood by the slogan, it was reported.

He also accused the Election Commission of India of being biased towards the BJP.
