Aryan Khan granted bail after over 3 weeks in jail

The son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has been in jail since Oct 8.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan has been granted bail after more than three weeks in jail, by the Bombay High Court. The 23-year-old has been in custody since the first week of October, hours after drugs raids on a cruise ship party. He was denied bail twice before.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had arrested Aryan Khan in the Mumbai drug bust case on Cordelia Cruises’ Empress ship. A rave party was busted on the ship, off Mumbai coast. His phone was seized and some others were also summoned and questioned in this connection. The cruise ship had people from Bollywood, fashion and business sectors – which allegedly had banned narcotics substances and was departing for a three-day “musical voyage”.

Aryan Khan has been in Mumbai’s Arthur Road jail. His lawyers had repeatedly pointed out that no drugs had been found on him. The NCB, however, argued that he was part of a conspiracy and that his WhatsApp chats revealed his involvement in illicit drug dealings.
