Atal Behari Vajpayee critical, on life support

The condition of former Prime Minister of India, Atal Behari Vajpayee, was stated to be critical. He was admitted in New Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) nine weeks back.

Vajpayee was taken to AIIMS on June 11 with a kidney tract infection and chest congestion along with other complications. However, his condition deteriorated considerably and he had to be put on life support yesterday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited AIIMS last night after Vajpayee’s condition was stated to be critical. He was there for 50 minutes. Modi has visited AIIMS to check on Vajpayee thrice earlier.
