COVID: All classes in Bengal schools suspended, summer vacations from today
All classes including IX to XII to remain closed until further orders.
Schools in West Bengal will be shut down immediately in view of the second wave of COVID. State education minister Partha Chatterjee said on Monday that all classes, including IX to XII will remain closed. Teachers have also been asked to not go to school.
“The summer vacations are being re-scheduled and starting with immediate effect due to the rising number of COVID cases,” Chatterjee said, adding that this includes all classes including IX to XII. “Other classes were closed in any case, but from time to time the higher classes were open, and we have decided to close these too,” he added.
No school reopening can be announced until further notification from the state government, he said.
