Furious at Left & Congress, Mamata Banerjee boycotts opposition meeting in Delhi on Jan 13

West Bengal chief minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee cancelled her trip to Delhi on January 13 where she was scheduled to reach to attend a meeting of opposition parties. She said this at the state Assembly on Thursday.

She alleged that the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the Congress in West Bengal were indulging in “dirty” political tricks, and hence she had decided to boycott the meeting. She said that she her herself suggested to the Congress that such a meeting be called to discuss the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC).

Banerjee today mentioned in incident in Malda on Wednesday, the day of the nation-wide strike called by 10 national trade unions, in which she alleged that the CPI(M) and the Congress had taken to hooliganism. She said that sometimes these two parties supported the BJP and sometimes opposed them. “I am not with the CPI-M and the Congress. I will oppose the BJP alone on the CAA and NRC,” she said.
