The Centre today appointed Jagdeep Dhankar as the new Governor of West Bengal, along with five other Governors in the country. Dhankar will replace Keshari Nath Tripathi.
Governors of six states – Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Nagaland and Tripura – were appointed today.
Madhya Pradesh Governor and former chief minister of Gujarat, Anandiben Patel has been appointed the new Governor of Uttar Pradesh. Bihar Governor Lalji Tandon was appointed Governor of Madhya Pradesh.
Ramesh Bais will replace Kaptan Singh Solanki as Governor of Tripura. Phagu Chauhan will be the new Governor of Bihar and RN Ravi will be Governor of Nagaland.
The appointments will come into effect from the dates of their joining office.
