Jagdeep Dhankhar files nomination for Vice President polls with PM Modi & Amit Shah by his side

Former West Bengal Governor, Jagdeep Dhankhar, today filed his nomination papers as the BJP-led NDa candidate for Vice-President. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and BJP President JP Nadda were with him while filing the nomination.

“I will always strive to enhance the democratic values of the country,” said Dhankhar. “I never thought, even in my dreams, that a person with a humble background like me will get this opportunity,” he said.

He will be fighting Opposition candidate Margaret Alva in the polls, scheduled on August 6. Margaret Alva has served as Governor of several states. She was a five-time MP and a minister in the Rajiv Gandhi government.
