Eating junk food and snacks at night may lead to sleep deprivation and obesity, found a recent study. It also suggested lack of sleep expedites craving for junk food, resulting in diabetes.
University of Arizona Health Sciences sleep researchers conducted a phone-based survey on over 3,000 adults across 23 U.S. metropolitan areas to find out their habit of junk food consumption at night. Around 60 per cent participants were found to be addicted to snacks at night, while a significant number was reported to consume junk food if they were not able to sleep at night.
