Left parties to skip Common Minimum Programme meet

Left parties to skip Common Minimum Programme meet

The Left parties are likely to skip the Common Minimum Programme  meeting of opposition parties ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. The meeting will take place in New Delhi on February 27.

Tipped to be a crucial meet to discuss strategies to counter the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming elections, six oppositions parties including the Congress are scheduled to meet and discuss pre-poll alliances and the Common Minimum Programme  on that day.

This was decided at a meeting on February 13 attended by Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee, Aam Aadmi leader and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, Nationalist Congress Party president Sharad Pawar, Andhra Pradesh chief minister and Telugu Desam Party leader N Chandrababu Naidu and National Congress head Farooq Abdullah among others.
