Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday led an 8-km rally in Nandigram of East Midnapore. She was on a wheelchair, and she interacted with people along the way from Khudiram More of Nandigram and ended her roadshow at Thakurchowk, where she then held a meeting. Banerjee is the Trinamool Congress candidate from Nandigram Assembly constituency, fighting against her once close aide Suvendu Adhikari, now the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate.
