Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet chief ministers of various states on Tuesday to take stock of the COVID-19 situation across the country, especially the bigger states and those that have been affected more than the others. There will be the issue of the use of COVID-19 vaccine and how it may be introduced and implemented.
West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee – who is in Bankura district on a three-day official visit – will attend the PM’s meeting from there. West Bengal government authorities feel that the COVID-19 situation in the state has improved and Bengal cannot be clubbed with those states that are being said to be affected more than others. Apart from the meeting in which Bengal will be among other states to discuss how to tackle the coronavirus in the coming days, there will be a separate meeting on the vaccine.
The Prime Minister will address the vaccine issue with chief ministers of all states, and Banerjee will attend this meeting from Bankura.
