Natt, a resident of Chingrawathi village of Siyana, was arrested from Sikandrabad, the highway that leads to Noida.

Apart from Natt, another suspect has been identified as the person who had snatched the service revolver from the inspector. This person is also a Bulandshahr resident.

Neither Natt nor the other person’s names figured in the FIR filed by the UP Police after the murder of Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh. But both were seen in videos that police came across later, showing them to be part of the violence and attack on the police. In the police FIR, there were names of several leaders of right wing organisations of the area including Bajrang Dal leader Yogesh Raj named as the main suspect. Yogesh Raj has been missing since the incident. Another suspect, Jitendra Malik, also suspected to be a main accused, was arrested earlier this month.

Three weeks back, some cow carcasses were reportedly found bordering a field in Bulandshahr, which led a group of about 400 people block a road. When police intervened to lift the roadblock, the mob started pelting stones and bricks at the policemen. Subodh Kumar Singh was hit by a stone. Later, he was chased by a group of men to his vehicle and shot at. Another young man was also killed in the violence.
