A massive fire broke out on Thursday in Pune’s Serum Institute of India complex. It is located in the Manjri area.
The SII is manufacturing the Covishield vaccine, to fight COVID-19. Smoke was reported to be billowing out of some floors of the building. The extent of damage is not known, nor the cause of the fire. Details are still awaited. According to initial information, eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot.
