Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, is the most followed among world leaders on Facebook, it was found in a study conducted by a communication firm, Burson-Martsteller. Modi has beaten US President Donald Trump by a huge margin, who was second.
Between January 1, 2017 and March 15, 2018, Modi had a total 43.2 million followers on Facebook, while Trump could not go beyond 23.1 million. Modi’s “silence” and Trump’s constant shooting from the hip is evident from their Facebook “interactions” too – while Trump led with 204.9 million conversations, Modi lagged far behind with only 113.6 million interactions with his “followers”. Interestingly, in March this year, Twiplomacy, a digital platform found that 60% of Modi’s followers are fake on Twitter.
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Arden was voted the “most loved” world leader on Facebook.
