Mumbai has emerged as the second longest working hours city in the world with weekly working hours of 43.7 hours, while New Delhi ranked fourth with 42.6 hours a week, a recent survey by Swiss Bank UBS found.
The survey – conducted in 71 cities around the world – reported that employees in India work under extreme pressure as there is no limit on the maximum working hours. Also, there is no framework that guarantees a minimum annual leave.
Earlier this year, Mumbai ranked 12th in the World’s richest city list with total wealth of $950 billion in another survey. Mumbai is ahead of cities like Paris and Toronto in the list.
