West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee today said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was politicising the death and blood of the jawans. She was referring to the death of 40 jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) who had been killed in Kashmir’s Pulwama.
Speaking at a programme in Howrah, Banerjee said Modi and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were using guns and missiles to win votes, and were not even sparing the blood of the slain jawans. “But its expiry date is over. Now nothing will work. The people and this country will be saved if the present government is voted out of power,” she said.
Mamata Banerjee said that she was in favour of the nation, the army, the jawans and its people, but not in favour of Narendra Modi. “I am not in favour of Modi-babu. But now, if you question anything, you are called a Pakistani,” she said.
She said that the country now faces a critical situation. “I have seen so many governments in power, but none like this one,” Banerjee said.
The West Bengal CM added that the Prime Minister went to inaugurate even a bathroom because he is always hankering for publicity. “Why do he need so much publicity required? If someone works, that itself becomes publicity,” she said.
