Rafale deal: Supreme Court dismisses review petitions seeking CBI probe

The Supreme Court today dismissed petitions seeking a review of its judgment refusing a CBI investigation into the Rafale fighter jet deal with French firm Dassault Aviation.
On May 10, the apex court had reserved the decision on the petitions, including the one that had been filed by former Union ministers Yashwant Sinha, Arun Shourie and activist lawyer Prashant Bhushan, seeking a re-examination of its findings.
The court had said that there was no need to doubt the decision-making process in procuring 36 Rafale fighter jets.
A bench comprising outgoing Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, Justices SK Kaul and KM Joseph dismissed the review petitions today.
