Counting for the elections in four municipal bodies started on Monday. Trinamool Congress – the ruling party in West Bengal – has been leading in all four civic bodies: Bidhannagar, Siliguri, Asansol and Chandannagar municipalities.

Results of all 227 wards are expected to be out by the end of the day. In Bidhannagar municipality, Trinamool is leading 39 of the 41 seats, in Siliguri Trinamool is leading 11 of the 47 seats, in Asansol municipality, Bengal’s ruling party is leading in 57 of the 106 seats, and in Chandannagar municipality, Trinamool is leading in 19 out of 33 seats. In some of these seats/wards, the Trinamool has already won.
