Suvendu Adhikary’s meeting in South Kolkata on day Mamata Banerjee holds meeting in Nandigram

Trinamool Congress leaders say Suvendu Adhikary is no match for Mamata Banerjee

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is holding a public meeting in South Kolkata, a stronghold of Trinamool Congress, on a day the party chief Mamata Banerjee is in Nandigram to address the people from a region known as the bastion of Suvendu Adhikary and his family. Suvendu Adhikary is being pitched as the main speaker at the Kolkata meeting.

While the BJP is trying to project the meeting in Kolkata as a counter move to show strength and power in south Kolkata from where Mamata Banerjee has won for many terms, the Trinamool Congress says that Suvendu Adhikary is no match for the Trinamool party chief. State panchayat minister Subrata Mukherjee said that the Nandigram meeting today will be a “historic” one.

The BJP’s meeting in Kolkata will involve a march from Tollygunge, and the public meeting will have other leaders such as BJP Bengal chief Dilip Ghosh, Mukul Roy and others. Sovon Chatterjee and Baishakhi Banerjee may also attend.
