Trinamool’s Anubrata Mondal to skip CBI summons, goes to SSKM Hospital

This is the ninth time he has been summoned by the CBI

Trinamool Congress’ Birbhum district chief Anubrata Mondal, who was to go to the office of Central Bureau of Investigation for questioning in an investigation on cattle smuggling told the probe agency authorities that he was unwell.

He skipped the questioning and though he reached Kolkata from his Birbhum home, he went to the state-run SSKM Hospital instead. It was reported that he had sent an e-mail to the probe agency to inform them of the matter.

According to some reports, the CBI authorities have asked him to be present after his check-up at SSKM, but it is not clear whether Mondal would be admitted to the hospital. Doctors at the hospital are expected to conduct tests and conclude whether he needs hospitalisation or can be allowed to leave. This is the ninth time that Mondal has been summoned by the Central probe agency for questioning in probes.
