The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a notification directing vice chancellors of all universities to ban junk food in college premises. Following an advisory issued by the UGC on November 2016, the new notice issued on August 21 is a reinforcement of the previous directive to sensitise students about the consequences of junk food consumption and adopt healthy food habits.
