Women in cities avoid breastfeeding their children to maintain “figure”, says Madhya Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel

Madhya Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel on Wednesday blamed urban women of not breastfeeding their children to maintain “figure”.

While addressing an event at an Anganwadi centre in Indore, Patel said women in cities feed their babies through bottles since birth. As bottles break, their destiny will also tumble in future, she said.

Only recently, Patel had sparked controversy when she directed all universities and colleges in Madhya Pradesh to send photographs and videos of celebrating “International Yoga Day” as “evidence”.
