The 26th Kolkata International Film Festival was inaugurated on Friday. Chief minister Mamata Banerjee and actor Shah Rukh Khan were present at the online inauguration programme. The inauguration was very different from what it has been for years now, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The KIFF has been postponed this year due to COVID-19, as it has always been held in the first week of November. This year, the programme is also being held in a smaller scale. Kolkata Film Festival was started in 1995.
