3.06 lakh new Covid cases in India, positivity increases from 17.78% to 20.75%

Caseload in the last one day is eight per cent lower than the day before.

India reported over three lakh new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, though the caseload in the last one day is eight per cent lower than the day before. With this, the Covid tally in India now stands at 3.95 crore.

The active cases now comprise 5.69 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 93.07 per cent. The daily positivity rate – the share of coronavirus tests that return positive increased from 17.78 per cent to 20.75 per cent. The weekly positivity rate was recorded at 17.03 per cent. There were 439 deaths reported from Covid during the past 24 hours.

The country’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has now crossed 162.26 crore dose. At least 72 per cent of India’s adult population is fully vaccinated whereas around 52 per cent of children between 15-18 years old age group have been given the first dose of vaccine.
