Former Goa CM Luizinho Faleiro nominated Trinamool’s Rajya Sabha MP

Former chief minister of Goa Luizinho Faleiro – who recently joined Trinamool Congress – has been nominated as the party’s Rajya Sabha MP candidate. Trinamool Congress took to Twitter to announce this. “We are extremely pleased to nominate @luizinhofaleiro to the Upper House of the Parliament. We are confident that his efforts towards serving the nation shall be appreciated widely by our people!”

Faleiro is a national vice-president of the Trinamool Congress. Faleiro – who was with the Congress for 40 years – recently joined Mamata Banerjee’s party, in September. The Trinamool Congress is fielding candidates in Goa for the coming Assembly polls and has already geared up for the Goa electoral battle.

Its campaign for the 2022 polls in Goa, ‘Goenchi Navi Sakal’ (Goa’s New Dawn), and has leaders such as Derek O’Brien, Babul Supriyo and Sougata Roy frequently visiting the state to strengthen the organisation. Recently, tennis star Leander Paes, too, joined the Trinamool Congress in Goa.
