Actor Rishi Kapoor passes away at 67

Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor passed away on Thursday at a hospital in Mumbai. He was 67. The actor was battling cancer for a long time. He was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday morning with breathing problem.
Rishi Kapoor was being treated in New York for cancer and returned to Mumbai last year. After that, he was again admitted to hospital twice in February.
The actor is survived by wife, actor Neetu Kapoor, son, actor Ranbir Kapoor and daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahani.
He was the recipient of National Film Award as a child actor in Mera Naam Joker — a film directed by his father, actor Raj Kapoor. Rishi Kapoor acted in many commercially successful Hindi films like Bobby, Amar Akbar Anthony, Chandni, Heena and Damini among others. He was awarded the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008.
Rishi Kapoor’s co-actor and friend, Amitabh Bachchan — who has acted with him in films like Amar Akbar Anthony and Coolie among others — tweeted saying, “He’s GONE ..! Rishi Kapoor .. gone .. just passed away ..I am destroyed!”
