COVID-19: Telengana govt removes all lockdown restrictions

All restrictions lifted across the state.

The Telangana government has decided to lift lockdown restrictions in the state after the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic showed marked signs of improvement. The government ordered “all branches to lift all types of regulations imposed during the lockdown in full extent”.

The chief minister’s office took to social media to announce that “The state cabinet has decided to lift the lockdown completely. The decision has been taken to lift the lockdown by examining the reports given by medical authorities that the number of corona cases, positivity percentage has decreased significantly, corona have come into full control”.

Telangana has reported on Friday case positivity of 1.14 per cent, and the number of daily cases was just over 1,400 in the past 24 hours. The number of Covid-related deaths was 12. Lockdown on June 9 was extended by 10 days in the state.

On Saturday, India reported 60,753 new cases and 1,647 deaths in 24 hours. Lockdowns and other restrictions are on in the states that have been most hit, including Maharashtra and Delhi. Lockdown restrictions continue in West Bengal as well.
