Gorakhpur-based Dr.Kafeel Khan on Sunday accused Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament Kamlesh Paswan of hiring shooters to kill his brother on June 10. He also demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the incident.
At a press conference, Dr Khan alleged that Paswan and another person Satish Nangalia gave the contract of killing his brother, Kashif Jameel, after Khan’s uncle lodged an FIR against them for encroaching a land in February this year.
Khan also slammed Uttar Pradesh police as the cops failed to trace the culprits. Alleging the police investigation was being influenced by “someone”, Khan demanded an investigation by CBI or by a High Court judge.
Kafeel Khan had spent eight months in prison after he was alleged to be responsible for the death of 63 children due to shortage of oxygen in a UP hospital in August last year. His brother was shot at on June 10 by two unknown assailants just half a kilometre away from chief minister Yogi Aditynath’s residence.
