Kali Puja was held at West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee’s house on Saturday. It has been many years now that the celebrations are held at her place every year on this day.

Even before she became chief minister, Kali Puja at her house on Harish Chatterjee Street in south Kolkata’s Kalighat has always been an important event. Hundreds of people — from party workers to senior leaders — visit her house for the puja and celebrations, and many get to eat the food that she herself cooks.

This year, though, very few people could visit her place because of COVID-19 restrictions. Her nephew, Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee, was there along with his family.
