Kerala’s Kochi airport extended its suspension of flight till August 18 afternoon after it was difficult to continue with the airport operations due to the flood conditions. Forty-two people have died due to the floods since August 8.
Train services have also been hit in the state, and the government has asked people to avoid travelling to the popular tourist destinations for a while now.
Over 60,000 people are in relief camps and the damage caused by the floods has been estimated at over Rs 8,000 crore.
