Leander Paes, Nafisa Ali join Trinamool Congress

Tennis star Leander Paes on Friday joined the Trinamool Congress in presence of West Bengal chief minister and party chief Mamata Banerjee in Goa. He is the third celebrity, after actress Nafisa Ali and Mrinalini Deshprabhu – to join Mamata Banerjee’s party.

Banerjee is in Goa on a visit, and senior leaders of her party have been engaged in various political activities in the state for the past few weeks. Trinamool is looking to gain ground in the state ahead of the Assembly elections, 2022. “Together, we shall ensure that every single person in this nation sees the Dawn of Democracy that we have been waiting for… ,” Trinamool Congress said as it announced the news on social media.

Earlier actress Nafisa Ali and Mrinalini Deshprabhu joined the Trinamool Congress in presence of Mamata Banerjee.
