In yet another brutal killing over cow vigilance, a 45-year-old man in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur was killed by a mob on Monday, for allegedly slaughtering a cow. Another person was being treated in a local hospital with severe injuries.
According to NDTV,  the deceased person Qasim and 65-year-old Samayuddin were beaten up mercilessly by some men who came in bikes in Pilakhuwa village. A video of Qasim gradually collapsing has gone viral after the incident. He was seen lying on the ground and the mob refused to even give him water.
The UP police nabbed two persons in connection with the incident and registered a case of murder. “Since there are rumours of cow slaughter, we are investigating that angle too,” said Sankalp Sharma, Hapur’s senior-most police officer.
However, a senior police officer Pawan Kumar said Samayuddin’s family did not mention cow slaughter in the FIR. Instead, they alleged that there was an argument between two groups when Qasim and Samayuddin’s motorcycle collided with another one.
