March semester exam in Bengal colleges to be held online: Partha Chatterjee

No hasty decision in view of students' health, said the education minister.

State education minister Partha Chatterjee on Wednesday said that the semester exams for March will be conducted online. Online classes will continue in view of the COVID-19 situation. Offline classes won’t resume at the moment and hostels will remain closed as well, he said.

Chatterjee had a round of discussion with vice-chancellors of all state-run universities at the meeting of West Bengal Higher Education Council over reopening of colleges and universities.

However, colleges will remain closed until further information is given out by the state government. The education minister said he is not rushing into any hasty decision in view of COVID-19, as any sudden decision might risk the health of students.
