India recorded the highest single day increase in Omicron cases with 180 new cases reported, taking the total tally to 961, according to the Union Health Ministry data.
Of this, Delhi recorded the maximum number of cases – 263 cases were reported – followed by Maharashtra (252), Gujarat (97), Rajasthan (69), Kerala (65) and Telangana (62).
Also, the daily rise in COVID-19 cases crossed the 13,000 mark after over 40 days, making the total number 3,48,22,040. The number of active cases increased to 82,402. The total number of deaths reached 4,80,860.
