After former President Pranab Mukherjee’s visit to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters in Nagpur for Tritiya Varsh Training programme in June this year, industrialist Ratan Tata may be the next bigwig to attend a Sangh event in 2018. The event is scheduled on August 24 in Mumbai, though the industrialist hasn’t yet confirmed his attendance.
The event will be organised by Nana Palkar Smriti Samiti to celebrate the centenary birth anniversary of RSS founder Nana Palkar and the golden jubilee of the Sangh. If Ratan Tata attends the event, he will share the dais with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
The spokesperson of Tata Trusts refused to comment on Ratan Tata’s possibility of attending the event. But he said that even if the Tata group patriarch chooses to visit, it would be a private affair.
On December 2016, the industrialist went to Sangh’s headquarters in Nagpur on his 79th birthday which was later termed a “courtesy call”.
Also, the country’s largest public charity, Tata Trusts, is associated with Nana Palkar Smriti Samiti. The Tata group also assisted the organisation in purchasing dialysis instruments and other palliative care equipment.
