Should women be allowed to enter Sabarimala? Supreme Court refers review to seven-judge bench

The Supreme Court on Thursday referred petitions seeking a review of its decision to allow the entry of women in Kerala’s Sabarimala Temple, to a larger seven-judge bench.
Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi said that the question of whether women of all ages should be allowed inside the Sabarimala Temple was part of a larger debate that also includes issues like allowing Muslim and Parsi women to enter religious practice.
There were over 60 petitions filed after the Supreme Court verdict in September last year that allowed women to enter the temple premises. The decision had led to violent protests all over Kerala.
