Trinamool Congress MP Derek O’Brien on Thursday said that the Union government “owes” West Bengal government ₹60,000 crore. He urged all non-BJP run state governments to put out corresponding figures in their states too.

*In 2019-20, Bengal did not receive devolution amount of ₹11,000 crore
*Yet to receive outstanding amount of ₹33,314 crore for Centrally sponsored schemes
*Deprived of about ₹60,000 crore in total
The Trinamool Congress-run government on Wednesday placed the ₹3,08,727 crore budget for 2021-22 in the West Bengal Assembly – which had welfare schemes, infrastructure, special rebate on stamp duty and amendments in road tax as its main highlights.
