The Patna High Court today accepted the state government’s request for monitoring the ongoing probe on the Muzzafarpur shelter home sexual harassment case, it was reported. The investigation of the case has been taken over by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The case has shaken up the entire political spectrum of Bihar with ministers being brought under the scanner for their alleged involvement in the scandal. The request to monitor the present CBI investigations by the state government was accepted by a division bench of the Patna High Court comprising of Chief Justice Rajendra Menon and Justice Rajeev Ranjan Prasad.
The request for the creation of a fast track court to bring about a speedy punishment delivered to the accused has also been approved of by the court. A notice was sent to the CBI in this regard that has ordered the next hearing after a two week interval.
