Kamlesh Kumar Ganjhu, alias Birsai, a Maoist leader active in Jharkhand, Bihar and Chhattisgarh with a bounty of Rs 25 lakh on his head, surrendered before police in Jharkhand’s Daltongunj on Thursday. He was wanted in 77 cases, police said. The cheque of that amount was handed over to Ganjhu on Thursday by the police. We was member of the special area committee.
Another Maoist leader – Vetti Rama – from Chhattisgarh with a bounty of rupees eight lakh on his head, surrendered in Sukma before the Chhattisgarh Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on the same day. Rama was an active Maoist for the past 23 years, Bastar IG Vivekanand Sharma has said. Rama was president of the Maoists’ Konta divisional committee.
