Kashmir Police on Friday arrested a suspect in the killing of Rising Kashmir editor-in-chief Shujaat Bukhari. Police also recovered a weapon that the suspected person, Zubair Qayoom, stole from the site of the murder.
Qayoom, a resident of Srinagar’s Kanitar-Saderbal, was seen in a photograph checking on the deceased bodies in Bukhari’s car. He is also seen picking up a pistol and leaving. The police said Qayoom’s involvement in the incident is being investigated.
Earlier, Kashmir police released late on Thursday night images of three men riding a two-wheeler covering their faces. They are yet to be traced.
